The Daphne Guinness Book Of Style

One can?t be blamed for being in awe of Daphne Guinness for her manner of dressing. She is one of the people who defy the common tendency to submit when others are telling them what they should wear. Originality is her best quality. Guinness keeps it real by being just herself and no one else in her clothes. Being in or out of fashion is out of the question. She believes that women should have their own perception of fashion, chic and carrying both the way they want. These things are part of a person. This is her stand. Jeans, by the way, are not her thing. She simply doesn?t like them and who are we to argue?

How fascinating it is to observe someone dress herself wonderfully, if not extravagantly! She doesn?t look like she?s out of this world, but more like she owns it.? Being an heiress, Daphne Guinness can afford that. However, she denies being high-maintenance. And who says you can?t dress like her if you?re poor? Rich or not, anyone can be blessed or not blessed with style. We may not ignore how fame and fortune led her way into the limelight, on to the red carpet, in the VIP lists, and on the front row seat of runway shows. The bottom line is, she knows chic from edge to edge. Obviously, she definitely knows how to rock it, see through it and often seems to be inspired. Where else would all our fashion sense come from, if not the things that keep our creativity flowing?

Daphne Guinness reportedly says, ?Between couture fashion and street fashion, there is a certain continuity. It?s great to go to London?s Camden Market or downtown New York and see what the kids are wearing. Today, you don?t even have to travel to do this; all you have to do is look at fashion blogs. I refer to them continually, and think quite soon they will start to dictate what?s really going to influence the fashion industry ? all those little voices at sites such as the Sartorialist and Style Bubble, with such a wide reach. On one site you might see a hipster in Williamsburg, New York, for example, in very tight, very shrunken jackets and trousers, and then you jump to another and see a different type of person wearing an oversized shirt, belted with silver tights. It?s like a bunch of ad-hoc experiments going on all the time.?
