60s Fashion: A Renovation for 2012

Since the 60s fashion motifs began in fall 2011, don?t be surprised to see them big and bouncing by spring. Silhouettes, prints, fabrics and hemlines are altered dramatically. The three main looks- ?60s mod, ?60s folk fashion, and ?60s sex kitten, all of which certainly play the glamour of yesterday and the modern style of today.

60's Fashion Trend for Spring 2012

?60s Mod reminds us of the long, slender legs, the short hems that rose to popularity, and the iconic designs of Mary Quant. This style includes wide eyes with big false eyelashes for an animated look. For hairstyles, short, boyish cuts are trendy. Just recall how Twiggy looked in the sixties. Bright block colors, graphic prints, and colorful mental geometric arrays dominate fabrics. Welcome back flower power, poppies, stripes, spots and prints of anything under the sun.

?60s Folk Style is free spirited with a Parisian spin. Structured heavier lace goes on top for embellishment as nothing beats its timelessness and intricacy. Peter pan collars become a hit. Hemlines go as high as the thighs. Belts are low-slung. Color has gone elsewhere and it has been replaced with whites, creams and blacks that don?t appear dull, boring or gloomy at all. As a whole, the folkish sixties consist of a sexiness made possible by primping up with unfussy hair, and winged out eyeliner. Think Jane Birkin and Francois Hardy.

?60s Sex Kitten is the playful vixen of Spring/Summer 2012. Setting the androgyny trend aside, here?s a ?60s era stereotype that reminisces the sophistication of Elizabeth Taylor, Brigitte Bardot, and Sophia Loren. As you might have noticed, these Hollywood legends have hourglass figures that look impeccable in cuts that accentuate the bust, waist and hips. Ultra Feminine full circle skirts or slim pencil skirts, or even high waisted cropped pants are perfect for their body shape. Bed hair, a sultry pout, long lashes and plenty of eyeliner gives off an appearance that seems to be effortless, as if you don?t care how you look but you know you?re lovely anyway. With such a tempting attire, anyone can be irresistibly hot, sexy and gorgeous all at the same time.
