First Face for Spring/Summer 2012: Super Model Aymeline Valade

For someone who just wants to be happy, Aymeline Valade is supermodel lucky. The top ranking first face of the season was spotted skateboarding on the streets of Paris and like other models, she took the offer and entered the fashion world without any delay. In no time, she was already sitting for hair and makeup at the Balenciaga casting in nothing grand but a Grateful dead T-shirt and leather biker jacket while Guido Palau gives her a nice, clean undercut. Despite thinking that she?d never qualify for Balenciaga, Valade went came anyway and from then on, she soared high. ?I like her strength, her smartness, her tonicity and her classicism,?Nicholas Ghesquiere describes Valade?s muse potential.

?She is very French for me. All that seduced me?. Such was stylist Karl temper?s statement about the model whom he booked for an Interviewer shoot with photographer Craig McDean. They were so awestruck, they recommended her to Alexander Wang for his spring campaign. ?She brings the images to fe and lends them authenticity,? says Temper. Being a classically trained dancer, Valade doesn?t have give photographers a hard time when she moves. Says Mcdean, ?her incredible ease at moving in front of the camera is not something that models have these days.?

Aymeline Valade also lives by the saying, ?the show must go on?.

?I?m sorry but you?re not on the list?. These words surprised the First Face, but Valade simply stepped aside, grinned and remained calm, despite the snotty wind that blew outside on the Hudson River. After all, the French-born model knew that she was definitely in the show because she was the one to open the show to all of the fashion crowd of New York.

?It was a total rush, to open his show,? recalls Valade. ?My modeling agency always told me that I have a particular face and bone structure, so people will either like me or they?ll hate me. Now, it seems to be happening that people like me.?? The 25-year old quotes maturity as one of the secrets to her modeling success: ?My vision of modeling is much more the attitude you have, I think. Whatever age you are, if you?re inspired, people respond to you. There are many beautiful girls who don?t know what to do with their beauty.?

And when asked what about her future plans, she tells the interviewer, ?I still don?t know what I want to do. My only motivation is to simply make beautiful things or at least to evoke interesting emotions. I really believe in the positive impact emotions can grant when viewing any kind of aesthetic expression. It makes people feel better. Fashion gives opportunities to every woman to find out their style and have better self-respect, which is one of the reasons I like it. As far as what I want to do, I just want to concentrate on now and do what seems right.
