How to Become a Fashion Model

Modeling?is a technique of showing what one posseses and likes in order to reach the?”perfect” pose together with a style. Becoming a Fashion Model is different from other Modeling gigs. Now-a-days you can be an Internet Model, or ?Amateur Model?, for an up coming clothing brand or party event. This is all very respectable and valid to be called a Model.?A Fashion Model that you see in Fashion Magazine spreads for Fashion clothing brands,?Perfumes, Make-Up and on High Fashion Runways need to be tall (5’9) or taller and very thin.

The younger you start off being Photographed and submitted to an Agency, the better. With time, people get to know you and the sooner you can get to become an International Model. But if you are sure to be a model now, despite your age, you would need to create a Model Portfolio. To create one you need gigs, weather they pay or not, you need to create a Portfolio of yourself. Gigs can be found everywhere online, and it’s also good to start by finding a less High End Modeling Agency to represent you when you only have a couple of shots of yourself in your Portfolio.

There is not a school that teaches you how to become a Model. There are Modeling coaches but they coach Models before Runways to plan out timing and turns. A coach can also coach during Photo Shoots and can be hired for a Model at occasions. Other than that, you need to be 5’9 or taller and have a thin body. Your face and hair can be worked with but usually you need a decent looking skin, especially if you?re starting off as a Fashion Model.

Your Portfolio and your experience in Runway will be what continues to sell you, and your maintenance of your body is what keeps you as a model. You have to keep yourself working at all times, and remember to be brief so people know you are serious. Always carry business cards and bring your Portfolio with you at every event or first time shoot. Creating a Web Page is a good idea, however it’s not necessary unless you have a bio that interests people. As long as you have your Portfolio and continually search for gigs and aim to be represented by your dream agency or to get your dream Runway or Fashion Spread? you?re doing your job as a Fashion Model.

Or maybe even to add new looks to your already existing Fashion Portfolio.

Models, remember to always look your best and carry yourselves with pride. If you were born to be a Model by looks, it is still important to carry yourself with the knowledge of this ? even if it’s obvious you are a gorgeous, tall and skinny Fashion Model. Your intelligence as a Model to make every gig you get outstanding depends only on yourself. If the Model is satisfied with her day and how she feels about the Photo-Shoot, then everybody else; The Fashion Photographer, The Editor, The Crew, become even more eager and inspired to work with you soon again and to continue their long day of work as well, doing what you all love and are best at! But don’t blame yourselves if you don’t feel you’ve reached perfection, you are still representing our time and never has there been a perfect time in History. Also remember to sell the Fashion, Season or Item in question!

Good Luck Models, and remember to not get distracted or overwhelmed by being the center of attention !
