Famous French Fashion Photographer Patrick Demarchelier

Patrick Demarchelier is one of the most famous art and fashion photographers in the world. He is known for his award winning creations in the world of fashion.

 

?A photographer is someone fragile. We must constantly renew ourselves.

For me, each project is a new challenge and whatever was done before is

One of Patrick?s successful and interesting exhibitions in 1998 was called: Echoes at Le Petit Palais where he showed together with photographer Jean Yves Empereur?s sub-marine findings, and Carlos Freire’s public faces of the residence in that Mythical Village. Patrick himself had a photography collection inspired by the already existing art inside of the museum. Patrick’s photography is the Art of Fashion, and fashion student’s had a lot of their costumes as a collection inside of Le Petite Palais.

 

Under the umbrella of diversity and contrast was an exhibition where he collected decades of portraits of celebrities hanging side by side with portraits of unknown muses . Patrick?s goal is to reveal his subject’s inner optimism in the most natural way whether it is a model or a celebrity.

He has photographed names such as Robert De Niro, Tom Cruise, Madonna, Ralph Lauren, Ronald Reagan and many more. He also was a personal photographer to Princess Diana.

 

Being born in Paris to a modest family, and being given his first Kodak camera when 17, he began to photograph his friends and weddings and learned how to develop film.

His first official job was at a dark room where he put portfolio’s together for students. Later he became a free-lance photographer. When moving to New York in 1975 to follow his girlfriend who left him before his arrival, he started his life in becoming one of the worlds best fashion photographers.

Patrick has worked for many brand names such as Dior, Louis Vuitton, Lacoste, Anne Klein and many more. He also worked for Vogue Magazine.

 

His new campaign for Calvin Klein was created with Super model Lara Stone in black & white photography by Patrick Demarchelier. His photography is outstanding and the causality of the shoot together with the expression in the Model’s eyes that captures the word Glamour in the title Naked Glamour.
